Tibbetts Kitchen

When:

Fall & Winter 2022-23

I used the carcasses and other wood, including tiger striped maple and cherry wood doors and hardwood banding, to finally finish our kitchen out. A builder friend had given these torn out kitchens to us years before and I had saved almost everything. I love color, but couldn't stand to paint over such pretty wood completely. I had to modify most of the cabinets and doors and had to build the cabinets around the refrigerator from some scrap and new wood. The wall shelves are made from tiger striped maple planks. I made the countertops from clearance corian material and prefabricated maple butcher clock. We are still working on the lighting and a few other details, but I love it and it is so functional for us. Just to add! I did most of this with a broken finger... which then led to a rotator cuff tear, likely from lifting plywood with a pincer grip from mostly one hand.
